Minutes of the Certification Management Committee - 13 November 2007
The committee met by phone on 13 November. Present were Mattias Fischer, Tom Gloria, Richard Heinisch, Gary Jakubcin, Michael Richardson, Rita Schenck, Ines Sousa and Liila Woods.
After introductions, the charge to the committee was reviewed. There was a discussion on the other organizations that have comparable certification systems. The committee members should review these prior to the next meeting. They include:
- Lighting professionals http://www.ncqlp.org/
- Environmental Professionals http://www.abcep.org/
- Energy Auditors http://bpi.org/documents/GuidetoAffiliation.pdf
- Quality professionals http://www.asq.org/training-and-certification.html
The European platform on LCA is also developing a program for identifying reviewers. We should work with them to ensure harmonization.
In order to move ahead, several decisions were made:
- There is already a website for this effort, where minutes and other public documents are posted http://lcacenter.org/certification.html. We will set up a password-protected site for committee works in progress.
- To meet the deadline of a system in place by next October, we will have to meet monthly. We will set up a regular monthly time for the meetings based on committee availability.
- Rita will draft a management system document with all the blanks where decisions need to be made, and post it on the password protected site.
