The National Product Category Rule Repository was formed in November 2010. Its goals are:

• to support infrastructure for environmental product declarations in the United States
• to provide confidence to the public and purchasers that the product category rules are of high quality
• to promote the use of environmental product declarations to green purchasing programs and other interested parties
• to work nationally and internationally to harmonize product category rules

the operations of the Repository are overseen by the PCR committee of ACLCA
