At the LCA conferences, students are invited to volunteer (primarily based on a first-come, first-served basis) to help at the conference. In return, conference fees are waived.

The work that needs to be done include:

1) Staffing the registration desk

2) Staffing the sessions

3) Loading and unloading presentations on the presentation computers

The student volunteers must attend a one-hour meeting the night before the conference starts (generally, on Monday afternoon/evening). At this meeting the students self-organize to assure that the work is covered, and everyone can arrange to attend the sessions most important to him or her.
